I just checked what keywords people were typing in to get to and one was 'hot chicks on mopeds'. So, having read in an online-marketing blog post that as a proper blogger you have to listen to your audience, I can now unveil that I indeed have listened and here it is, the 'Hot Chicks on Mopeds' post!!

This Time It's Personal

I was tagged by Fritha Tigerlilly who dragged me into self analysis and WORK!

Ok.. here is how it goes..

1. Post these rules
2. Post 11 random things about yourself
3. Answer the questions provided by the one who tagged you
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag
5. Go to their blog and tell them they've been tagged!

1. I always finish my plate [as long as the food is not rubbish]. I always leave a little bit of everything on the plate till the end, so I actually have the whole of the meal left as one last munch.

2. When I was a teenager, I was a right-wing countryside moped rocker. I was a nice guy and a complete idiot at the same time. All my friends were idiots. Juvenile delinquents. We were riding around on our stupid mopeds, going on everybody's tits, thinking we were god's perfect creation. We thought we were cool.. it was our way of punk rock.. telling everybody to fuck off, even the old Nazis. We didn't have respect for anybody, only for our friends. A lot of teenagers in Germany were right-wing idiots at that time [and a lot of them still are]. There were big groups of local gangs and we were all fighting either each other, one village or area against another or got into stupid fights with Turkish teenagers outside of village discos. This might sound odd.. but we also had a great time being idiots. All this suddenly stopped when I turned 19 and went to do some further education in the next bigger town and got involved with different, more intelligent people. We then were a gang of Marxist rudeboys and psychobillies, getting into fights with the local skinheads. There was a lot of idiotic and silly behaviour. Good times. That's me in the middle with my best friends Max and Uwe in 1986:

The picture above was taken in Homs, Syria. We went there one Summer in an old fucked up but strangely reliable car all the way from Germany.

Homs Street Style. Again.. we looked like some right nutters as the only tourists in an arabic desert town. Why did we go there? Because Max was friends with the Syrian guy who was driving around in an icecream van back in Germany half of the year, and he said one day to Max "If you want, you can visit me. My house is your house." So the next year we bought that shit Opel, painted it yellow and drove via Austria, Yugoslavia and Turkey to Syria - and back.

Talking about Germany in the early 80s: You might laugh, but that's what is was like in 70s/80s working class Germany..

Ok, Vollgas..

3. I can't stand my nose. It's too big! :D I want a chiselled Roman nose, a nose like Vincent Gallo.

4. My life ambition was always just to be in love and have a family. And a motorbike. I am very lucky.

5. One thing I am really good at is improvising. I am a jack of all trades but master of none. I suppose I'd be really good at 'Faking It' [the show]. Since I was a teenager I always re-invented myself after at least 6/7 years. I get very bored with doing the same stuff after a while.

6. I love the sea but I am a very lazy swimmer and I hate having sand everywhere. There is a tiny OCD person sitting on my shoulder ..which is not very punk rock. That's probably The German in me ; ]

7. I cannot sing or remember lyrics although I played in bands for nearly 10 years.

 8. I moved house probably 15 times so far. Of which 7 times in Berlin.

9. I can do 14 chin-ups and 60 push-ups. That's my excuse for not running and eating lots of cake and bisquits.

10. One of my old friends in Berlin wrote two novels and I am a character in both of them. It's weird to read about parts of yourself in a book. You can buy them here & practice your German:

11. I don't like speaking German.

1. What is your favourite food? - I don't have a favorite food. My last favorite food was a beetroot curry with dhal, rice and raita that my wife Sharmila made.

2. What makes you happiest? - Smiles and Cookies

3. What is your current obsession? - My baby girl and my new shitty motorbike

4. What was the first gig you went to? - I seriously can't remember. My first record, bought with my own money, was Blondie's Parallel Lines

I love all early Blondie tracks including the Parallel Lines record. There is a great book by Debbie Harry about Blondie and the early New York / CBGBs New Wave Punk scene called Making Tracks.

5. What was your worst job? - Playing live gigs in a misunderstood fading band with my by then ex-girlfriend. Yes, I was in a band

6. What is one song you feel most connected to? - Scott Walker 'Jackie' + Bowie 'Heroes/Helden' + Blondie 'Presence Dear' + Led Zeppelin 'Going to California' / 'Rain Song'

7. If you could live anywhere where would it be? - Southern California and Iceland

8. What inspires you? - The world, little things, empathy, authenticity, integrity, trash

 9. What's your favourite way to celebrate? - Mexican Wave + Going out for a nice meal

10. If there was one thing you could tell your 16 year old self what would it be? - Don't spend 3.5 years on that mechanic apprenticeship and go for the photographer apprenticeship instead.

11. What would your super power be? - Healing while flying

Aww shit.. I don't think that I actually know 5 bloggers :D

Ok.. let's see..
